Every tutoring relationship begins with connection. I take time to understand your child’s experiences with mathematics—their strengths, their questions, and their confidence. Together, we build a supportive space where curiosity is valued and mistakes are part of learning.

My instruction is grounded in research on how the brain learns mathematics and how skills develop over time. We begin with concrete models to build meaning, connect those ideas to visual representations, and then move toward abstract symbols. This progression ensures students truly understand the “why” behind the math they are learning.

Students are encouraged to explain their thinking, make connections, and solve problems in more than one way. Through purposeful questioning and rich tasks, I help students develop flexible strategies and confidence in their reasoning. The goal is not just getting the right answer—it’s understanding how and why it works.

Fact fluency is developed through understanding, not memorization alone. Students build efficient strategies rooted in number sense before practicing for accuracy and efficiency. This approach creates fluency that is durable, flexible, and supports more complex mathematics.

Games are a powerful way to strengthen number sense, strategy, and flexible thinking. Each game is intentionally chosen to reinforce specific mathematical concepts while building confidence and engagement. Through structured play, students practice reasoning, develop efficient strategies, and experience math as joyful and meaningful.

During our initial session,  a grade-level screener is completed to analyze where students are in their mathematical thinking. Families receive a clear report outlining strengths, areas for growth, and an instructional plan tailored to their child.
